New Principal for WCCHS, Claresholm
Livingstone Range School Division No. 68 is pleased to announce that Jacqueline (Jackie) Kark has been selected to fulfill the role of Principal at Willow Creek Composite High School in Claresholm, starting in the 2019-2020 school year.
Kark is currently Principal at Granum School and Alternate Programs (Home Education) Principal for the Division. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta, majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in CTS (Business Technology), and received her Masters of Secondary Education from the University of Alberta as well. Prior to joining the staff of Granum School, Kark was Principal at Kinuso School (K-12) in northern Alberta.
Over her career, Kark has demonstrated a strong commitment to building effective relationships in the school community. Superintendent Darryl Seguin shares that Kark takes a collaborative problem-solving approach and is student-centered.
“Where others see barriers Jackie sees an opportunity,” says Seguin. “I believe her leadership style and Junior High/High School experience will serve the Willow Creek Composite High School and community well.”
A believer that every student can be successful in his or her own way, Kark is excited to get to know the community of Claresholm and the staff and students at WCCHS.
“I am an advocate for student-centered and individualized learning opportunities and programs,” says Kark. “I look forward to bringing my experience and ideas to meet the needs of the WCCHS community and will continue to build upon all of the great programming all ready happening at WCCHS!"
Kark is originally from Slave Lake, Alberta. When she’s not at school, you can find her travelling, spending time in the mountains snowboarding and on the lakes paddle boarding.
The Division would like to congratulate Jackie Kark on her new appointment and wish her the very best of success in the future.
