Scott Bailey Named LSA Coordinator
Posted onLivingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Scott Bailey has been appointed Livingstone Ski Academy Coordinator beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.
Scott holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from the University of Calgary and is pursuing his Master of Education degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland. In addition to his classroom teaching experience, Scott is a certified ski instructor and has been teaching and coaching skiing for over 20 years in Alberta, BC, and Australia.
"We are very excited to welcome Scott to the Livingstone family,” says Livingstone School Principal Sarah Holmgren. “His passion for teaching and engaging students through physical activity make him a perfect fit for our team. We are confident that the experience he brings with him will help us take the Ski Academy to the next level. Welcome to Livingstone, Scott!"
Livingstone Ski Academy (LSA) is a featured program of Livingstone School in Lundbreck, and provides educational, skiing and snowboarding instruction, and alpine lifestyle experiences for both competitive and recreational student athletes. As Coordinator, Scott will continue to develop exceptional programming and community partnerships for a unique student educational experience.
Scott is very excited to be joining the LSA and Livingstone Range School Division. “I wish that a program like the Livingstone Ski Academy had existed when I was in high school,” says Scott. “It definitely would have helped me to find my way into the active living and sport sector while earning credits at the same time! I hope that the many students I'll have the privilege of working with over the coming years will enjoy opportunities to build their confidence, skills, and identities by learning on the land, through sport and physical activity.”
Scott’s favourite on-snow and dryland adventures are with his two kids Gillian (age 5), Conor (age 3), and partner Deirdre. Their family is excited to be moving full-time to the mountains this summer, and will soon have a golden retriever puppy joining their crew!
Congratulations to Scott on his new leadership role.
