Third-Party Assessment for Capital Plan Prioritization Approved

The Board of Trustees has approved a third-party assessment of all Livingstone Range School Division Schools to determine capital plan prioritization going forward.
The last assessment was done in the early 2000’s, placing J.T. Foster High School (Nanton), A.B. Daley Community School (Nanton), Livingstone School (Lundbreck), Canyon School (Pincher Creek), and Matthew Halton High School (Pincher Creek) on the capital plan list. WIth the Nanton New & Modernized Schools project moving into construction phase and Livingstone School in Pre-Planning funding phase, an updated review is required.
“We’re pleased with the government funding for our priority capital projects in Nanton and Lundbreck,” says Lori Hodges, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “Now it is essential to begin advocating for our next major project so that our students have the learning environments and tools necessary for the future.”
An assessment will provide a clear understanding of the current infrastructure, school enrolment and capacity, and facilities challenges of each school across the jurisdiction. It will be an objective analysis to determine which school should next be prioritized on the capital plan.
