World Teachers' Day 2020

Happy World Teachers' Day!

Since 1994, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) has honored teachers worldwide on October 5. The contributions that educators make to improving the lives of children around the world cannot be overstated. The 2020 World Teachers' Day Theme, "Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future" is particularly relevant at this time of global uncertainty.

Superintendent Darryl Seguin is impressed with the Division's teachers during 2020. "The teachers and educational staff in Livingstone Range School Division have shown remarkable leadership during the last 7 months of the COVID-19 pandemic," says Darryl. "They adapted and stretched in unanticipated ways in order to provide continued student learning this spring, and now are finding innovative ways to prepare their students for the future."

Lori Hodges, Chair of the Board of Trustees, adds that teachers' dedication is making a difference in our Division. "On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we want to extend our warmest thank yous to all Livingstone Range School Division teachers," says Lori. "Your commitment to student wellbeing and success inspires us all and will leave a lasting impression on our students."

We wish all LRSD teachers a very happy World Teachers' Day!
