Facilitated Session Explores Future of Livingstone School

Posted on

More than 30 parents, community members, and staff participated in a facilitated engagement session on June 17, 2025 to explore the future of Livingstone School in Lundbreck. As part of the Pre-Planning Funding phase of a potential new or modernized school, Livingstone Range School Division held the event to gather community perspectives about future programming, potential partnerships, and school facilities.

The discussion—facilitated by David George and Cal Hauserman, retired school administrators and experienced facilitators—centered around the question “What does a great school look like?” Participants shared feedback that included broad programming for options courses, spaces for early learning and childcare, a large gymnasium, and being a community hub.

“As the Board of Trustees, we’re excited to listen, learn, and connect with our community,” says Lori Hodges, Board Chair. “This engagement session is a key step in the Livingstone School project. A school is more than just a building—it’s a space that reflects the values, needs, and hopes of the community it serves.”

The Trustees and Senior Administration thank all those who participated in the June 17 meeting. Feedback from this session will be used in a future value scoping of the Pre-Planning Funding phase.
